Yosemite was publicly released on October 15, 2014. The increasing frequency with which Apple releases new desktop/laptop OS versions – mostly due of forcing compatibilty with the ever-updating iPhone/iPad OS, which is like getting two different species to interbreed – is all about Apple, not about the users of the OS.
